VRS X 0.8.3 Stable

VRS X 0.8.3 is now available!

This release brings together several weeks of improvements, fixes, and feedback from our beta testers, with a strong focus on stability, data accuracy, and overall reliability.

ADS-B feeds and MLAT handling have been significantly improved, including a new combined BaseStation + MLAT format, better compatibility with Beast and SBS data sources, TCP passphrase support, and numerous fixes to feed connections and rebroadcasting.

The Traffic Recorder is now more resilient under heavy traffic, with improved PostgreSQL handling, queue processing, recovery after connection failures, and more reliable flight history playback.

Flight and route detection has also received major refinements. VRS X is now better at identifying intermediate stops, successive departures, long-haul flights with coverage gaps, and complex multi-stop routes, including flights returning to their original departure airport.

On the radar itself, we’ve refined mobile controls, aircraft tracking, map interactions, sorting, and marker rendering. Weather layers now benefit from improved caching and recovery, while aircraft telemetry provides clearer distinctions between ground speed, airspeed, wind, and heading.

We’ve also improved Central Repository synchronization, aircraft data management, reporting forms, and administration, including safer configuration saves, more reliable uploads, and better application update procedures across Windows, macOS, and Linux.

VRS X 0.8.3 is primarily a stability and refinement release, built around real-world testing and the valuable reports submitted by our beta testers.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped identify issues, test fixes, and improve VRS X along the way!
