Active 1090 MHz Filter + LNA
A compact active RF filter and low-noise amplifier designed for ADS-B reception on 1090 MHz.
The module combines a dedicated 1090 MHz filter with approximately +20 dB of amplification, helping improve reception in installations where additional filtering and signal gain are required.
It can be used with ADS-B.Pro receivers, VRS X installations, dump1090, readsb and other compatible ADS-B setups.
FEATURES
- Designed for ADS-B reception on 1090 MHz
- Integrated 1090 MHz RF filter
- Integrated low-noise amplifier
- Approx. +20 dB gain
- Separate RF input and RF output
- USB-powered
- USB-C connector used for power only
- No USB data connection
- USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) is not supported
- Suitable for Raspberry Pi and other Linux-based receiver builds
- Compatible with common ADS-B SDR receivers
POWERING THE FILTER
For best results, we recommend powering the filter from a separate USB port on the same device that hosts the SDR receiver.
For example:
- SDR receiver → one USB port
- Active filter → another USB port on the same device
This keeps the installation simple and self-contained.
The USB-C connector is used only to provide power to the filter and amplifier. It does not provide a data connection and does not require USB Power Delivery negotiation.
INSTALLATION
The module should be installed between the antenna and the SDR receiver:
Antenna → Active 1090 MHz Filter + LNA → SDR
Make sure the RF input and RF output are connected in the correct direction.
USE CASES
- ADS-B aircraft tracking
- Improving reception in RF-noisy environments
- Receiver installations using external antennas
- ADS-B.Pro feeder stations
- VRS X installations
- Raspberry Pi receiver builds
- Home and remote ADS-B receiving stations
WHAT YOU NEED
The module requires:
- a suitable 1090 MHz antenna
- an ADS-B SDR receiver
- appropriate RF cables or adapters
- a standard USB power source
Purchasing this module through ADS-B.Pro also helps support ongoing development of ADS-B.Pro and VRS X.
